The couple that I bought, cheap as they were, I regretted, because I was just tired of playing them again and again in a day or two anyways. Ultimately, they are cheap, so knock yourself out if you want to get them, but I think they are totally unnecessary and not worth it in the long run. It's not like it unlocks an alternate quest or anything. And, from what I understand, the reward for hitting the coin goal is pretty superficial. And yeah, the levels do give you a fair bit of extra coins.but they aren't that much more interesting than the main levels, and you still end up just replaying the same level again and again. The game was created specifically as a pick-up-and-play experience that can be instantly enjoyed by players of all skill levels on the Nintendo 3DS system. I bought one or two because I was interested in the coin collecting goal and coin rush overall. 2 is a traditional side-scrolling adventure game featuring Mario, Luigi and loads of other favorite characters from the popular Mario series. IN MY OPINION (that's your cue not to crucify me for having a dissenting opinion, Nintendo fanboys).I don't think they are worth it. If I remember correctly, they are mostly levels packed with lots of coins, in order to help ease the grind of reaching the 1 million coin goal, or whatever amount that 'collect a ton of coins' goal was.
